DIY: Gift Pouch

I love using little pouches for my gifts. Here's how I make them.

Materials:

Fabric

Paper

Ruler

Pencil

Scissors

Safety Pin

Ribbon

Fabric Chalk

Sewing Machine

Sewing Thread

Stamp and Ink pad

Cut a piece of paper into a 9 inch by 5 inch rectangle, this will be your pattern. Using your fabric chalk trace the pattern onto the fabric. Cut out the fabric rectangle.  You can reuse your pattern to trace and cut out as many fabric rectangles as you need.

Fold the fabric over on of the 9 inch side of the rectangle. Sew the flap half an inch from the folded edge.

Fold the fabric in half to make a square. Starting at the edge opposite the flap, sew the raw edges together. Do not sew past the top flaps.

Use a ribbon that is 18 inches long and about a quarter of an inch wide. Attach a safety pin to one end of the ribbon and use the safety pin to much the ribbon all the way through the top of your pouch.

Turn your pouch inside out and decorate it with a stamp. Read this blog post to learn how to create your own hand carved stamp.

Fill the pouch with the prefect little gifts. Visit the shop to purchase these cute little crocheted flower post earrings

Pull the ribbon and tie into a pretty bow and you're all done. Happy creating!
