DIY: Crochet Coaster

I love chai lattes. :) They make me happy. I decided to make a little coaster for my dear tea and share the pattern with you. Here is what you'll need:

Materials:

Yarn (I used "Aunt Lydia's" bamboo thread size 10)

Crochet hook (Aunt Lydia recommends a 1.5 mm hook. I used a slightly smaller hook: 1.4 mm. This made my design slightly tighter.) 

Scissors

Row 1: Ch 6 and close your circle with a sc.

Row 2: Ch 6 and dc 1 into your circle. Ch 3, dc 1 into your circle again, repeat 3 times. Ch 3 and sc into 3rd ch of  row. 

Row 3: Ch 6 and dc 1 into 3 ch loop of row 2. Ch 3 and dc 1 into the same loop again. Ch 3, dc 1 on top of the following dc of row 2 and repeat. Ch 3 and dc 1 into the following loop. Ch 3 and dc 1 into the same loop. Ch 3, dc 1 on top of the following dc of row 2 and repeat. Ch 3 and dc 1 into the following loop. Ch 3 and dc 1 into the same loop. Ch 3, dc 1 on top of the following dc of row 2. Ch 3 and sc into 3rd ch of the row. 

Row 4: Ch 3 and dc 3 into the loop below. Dc 3 into the following loop, ch 3 and dc 3 into the same loop. Dc 4 into the following loop, and repeat 2 times. Dc 3 into the following loop, ch 3 and dc 3 into the same loop. Dc 4 into the following loop, and repeat 2 times. Dc 3 into the following loop, ch 3 and dc 3 into the same loop. Dc 4 into the following loop, and repeat once more. Sc into the 3rd ch of the row. 

Row 5: Ch 6 and dc 1 into the gap between the groups of double crochets below. Ch 3, dc 3 into the loop below, ch 3 and dc 3 into the same loop again. Ch 3, dc 1 into the following gap and repeat 3 times. Ch 3, dc 3 into the following loop, ch 3 and dc 3 into the same loop again. Ch 3, dc 1 into the following gap and repeat 3 times. Ch 3, dc 3 into the following loop, ch 3 and dc 3 into the same loop again.  Ch 3, dc 1 into the following gap and repeat once. Ch 3 and sc into the 3rd ch on the row. 

Row 6: Ch 3 and dc 3 into the loop below. Dc 4 into the following loop. Ch 3, dc 3 into the following loop, Ch 3 and dc 3 into the same loop. Ch 3. Dc 4 into the following loop and repeat 4 times. Ch 3, dc 3 into the following loop, ch 3 and dc 3 into the same loop. Ch 3. Dc 4 into the following loop and repeat4 times. Ch 3, dc 3 into the following loop, Ch 3 and dc 3 into the same loop. Ch 3. Dc 4 into the following loop and repeat 2 times. Sc into the 3rd ch of the row. 

Row 7: Ch 6 and dc into the gap between the groups of double crochets below. Ch 3 and dc 1 into the following loop. Ch 3, 3 tc joined at the top, and repeat 3 times. Ch 3, dc 1 into the following gap and repeat 5 times. Ch 3, 3 tc joined at the top, and repeat 3 times. Ch 3, dc 1 into the following gap and repeat 5 times. Ch 3, 3 tc joined at the top, and repeat 3 times. Ch 3, dc 1 into the following gap and repeat 2 times. Ch 3 and sc into 3rd ch of the row.

Sc = Single Stitch

Ch = Chain 

Dc = Double Crochet

Tc = Triple Crochet
